Victorian Villa

Ealing

The project’s challenge was working with the client remotely to purchase and completely refurbish the home in preparation for the family to return to London from overseas. The substantial detached villa required extensive refurbishment and addition of a side rear and loft extension as well as landscaping of a large garden. The clients furniture was brought out of storage and arranged to provide a level of comfort as well as a neutral platform they could put their own stamp on by adding meaningful details organically over time.

One of the wardrobe doors was a secret entrance to the private bathroom.

Wide stained oak unites the space.

Honed limestone chosen for the fossil detail and waxed oak floor provided a background for the freestanding bath in one of the en-suite bathrooms.

A couple of original sixties large black and white framed prints added interest to the garden facing main reception furnished with deep grey sofas.

A wide honed flagstone floor unites the ground floor spaces.

View into the simple minimal kitchen in warm neutral tones from the rear extension

A new double door opening connected the front dining room with the new kitchen housed in the rear extension.

The brickwork was sandblasted and repointed and the original damaged Victoriann entrance door replaced with a replica.
