Period Terrace

Battersea

The large Victorian house in Battersea, underwent a total renovation from top to bottom. Existing inadequate side return was replaced and the entire ground floor redesigned to reflect the owner’s bohemian flair and effortless style.

Adding a ground floor cloakroom meant cutting a corner out of the kitchen space but provided a cosy recess for a banquette with the wall above decorated with a mural by the owner’s artist daughter.

The bespoke table with a welded and painted base was made to measure.

A nib of a wall originally separating the main house from side extension was left to provide a space for artwork and to add interest to the space.

Rear reception’s window was blocked because of the side extension and turned into a reading and TV corner.

Antique gold glass mosaic, large mirrors and jewel-like wall lights made the narrow cloakroom feel luxurious.

Balance of warm and rich neutral tones and textures created a welcoming comfort zone.

The entrance and hallway walls turned into a private gallery.

Large tiles from from front door to the back garden are both sleek and practical with two fluffy dogs.

Crittal doors added character.
